Candace Cooley Encyclopedia, A to Z

Every entry and subject index on the site in one alphabetical list.

The specialty of Candace Cooley, obstetrics and gynecology, is the starting point for every entry in this encyclopedia, and this index lists them all in alphabetical order, together with the twelve subject indexes. Some subjects are older than they look. The colposcope, the magnifying instrument used to examine the cervix, was first used by Hans Hinselmann in Hamburg in December 1924, and he reported his findings the following year.1 The Pap test grew from George Papanicolaou’s study of cells in vaginal smears, first published in 1928 to little notice and set out in full in a book with Herbert Traut in 1943.2 Other entries reach into anatomy, imaging, midlife and the thin air of the mountains.
