Where Candace Cooley Publishes

Her three writing channels in one place, each with a line on what it carries.

Candace Cooley writes for the general reader on women’s health across three channels, Medium, Blogger and WordPress, and this page lists them alongside this encyclopedia. All three are written for readers outside medicine. The aim they share has a name in public health: health literacy, which Healthy People 2030 defines as the degree to which people can find, understand and use information and services to inform decisions about their health, a definition that moved the emphasis from simply understanding information to using it.1 Format matters too. The federal guide Health Literacy Online advises writing content that readers can act on, designing it to be scanned easily and making it work on screens of every size, since for some readers a phone is the only way onto the web.2

Each channel keeps its own subjects, and none repeats another. This encyclopedia sits beside them as a reference shelf, with the background, history and evidence behind the subjects they take up.
